Keyword Research Techniques for Bum Marketing
Article marketing has always worked in order to get targeted traffic to a website. Most people that have been working on the Internet for quite some time have also been aware of this tactic. Within the past couple of years, however, this way of doing business has really hit the mainstream and has opened the doors of opportunity to people who are just getting started on the Internet. By coming out with the bum marketing method, it brought article marketing to a level which was easy to understand for somebody that was just starting out. By applying the principles within the bum marketing method, these people were able to be profitable, even if they have never worked on the Internet before.
There are very few working parts to the bum marketing method but it is important that you understand everything about it before you get started. At the very root of this method is keyword research and unless you’re able to be efficient at doing this, you are not going to be successful with your efforts. There are several different principles that need to be kept in mind whenever you’re doing your keyword research. First of all, you need to learn how to look for long tail keyword phrases. It is going to be next to impossible for you to rank well for some of the one or two word keyword phrases that are always dangled in front of your face. Whenever you do keyword research, you’re more than likely going to look at some of these short phrases with envy. Yes, they get a lot of searches on a daily basis but I would rather have 100% of 10 people then to have 0% of a hundred people. If you’re going after anything but long tail keyword phrases with little or no competition in the search engines, you’re just going to be spinning your wheels.
Secondly, you need to learn how to diversify a little bit in your keyword research. For example, if you are looking for keywords that have to do with dog food, you need to learn how to think outside the box a little bit. Yes, you will find some keywords by searching for dog food directly but you will also need to break out of that mold to a certain extent. By doing things such as using the word canine instead of dog and variances of the spelling, you can increase the number of keyword phrases that you have, quite a bit. If you’re stumped for ideas, try looking in a thesaurus.
Understanding this basic concept of keyword research is going to help you to get the most out of your bum marketing efforts. After all, this is where your traffic is going to come from and if you’re targeting the wrong keywords, you’re not going to receive any traffic at all. Do yourself a favor and take the time to learn this necessary skill, it will help you to be successful in your efforts.
